Father sells his house and business to take 2-year-old daughter travelling around the world for 5 years

A father from Shanghai recently made the decision to sell his 2 million yuan house and company to buy an RV with which to take his 2-year-old daughter travelling around the world for five years.

According to NetEase, Zhu Chunxie, originally from Jilin and of Korean descent, has lived in Shanghai for more than 10 years earning a living. During that time he has opened his own company and lives very comfortably, owning a 100 square meter house.

Half a year ago he made the snap decision to sell off his company and his home in order to take his daughter travelling around the world. After spending 3 months preparing, the two embarked this August and don't plan to return to Shanghai until after 5 years.

Zhu says his reason for taking what many have called an impulsive decision is his realization that most people are too busy to really spend time with their children, who often lack a real father figure.

"In the eyes of a child, having a father to accompany them through childhood is the most important thing," said Zhu. While he admits that the RV is not as comfortable as the home he left behind, when he thinks of how the experience will enrich his daughter's life, he thinks that his decision is worthwhile.
Zhu's decision to devote himself to his daughter clearly ranks him at the top of the leaderboard in terms of good parenting.
